My family, My Oxford

The title is indeed apt for my write up. Oxford is not just an elite school, its’ a royal family. I am extremely happy to be able to express my feelings towards my family through this blog post.

The year 2007 was one of the best years of my life. It was 15th of March when I joined Oxford Public School. First day can be frightening and I was nervous too. But the environment was so encouraging, all the educators were so dedicated towards their students. Everyone helped a new teacher like me, even the students – I was on cloud nine! Everything was so good!

Continuing my journey in the school I made great friends, learned many new concepts of teaching and became part of this huge family. More importantly, Oxford became an integral part of my life. At Oxford, the students don’t just learn, they grow – mentally as well as emotionally. The senior administration including Principal Ma’am, Vice Principal Ma’am and Sudesh Ma’am have made this possible. They make sure that the educators not only focus on teaching about what’s in the book but also the concepts which develops the overall personality of a student.

The various activities like:
1.       Daily exercise along with music.
2.       Zero Period – which includes teaching the students yoga, word of the day, thought of the week and interact about anything and everything you feel like!
3.       Dare to Express – a platform which allows each student to be able to express themselves efficiently along with the support of their class teachers.
4.       Participation in various competitions, quizzes and exhibitions – this being my favourite part as I handle often.
5.       Creative workshops after final exams for primary student.
6.       TED (Technology, Entertainment, Design) talks – motivating each student to do something different in life.

Ah, much about student’s education; let me move on to activities conducted to develop “Oxfordian” level educator.

Monthly workshops, positive competition amongst educators (recent one being vocabulary and pronunciation test), parties (yes we do have great parties!!), family like atmosphere – all this makes us so glad of being part of this school. In the recent years, I have grown a lot, become a better teacher and more importantly a better human being.

My post would be incomplete without expressing my gratitude towards our Principal Ma’am. I would like to thank her for making our school shine, allowing us to be the best that we could be. She has always provided an atmosphere which has so far made my journey more enjoyable and all the more rewarding.

I am always amazed at how God brings people and places into our lives to bless us. Thank you for everything Oxford! Hope the journey continues forever…..
